Affirmation of Values
An Affirmation of Values
in Uncertain Times
Hold Your Horses is committed to cultivating healing with the wisdom of animals and nature. Healing is at the core of what we exist to do, and we believe that standing up to marginalization is part of our healing mission.
The Board of Directors of Hold Your Horses welcomes all who need our services with open arms and stands with our immigrant, BIPOC, disabled, and LGBTQIA+ staff, volunteers, clients, and communities. We want to take this moment in an unprecedented time in history to recognize that many of the communities we serve are under threat and reaffirm our values and commitment to those we serve —
Hold Your Horses is committed to cultivating physical, emotional, and psychological safety in all of our decisions and actions.
We are committed to celebrating diversity, ensuring dignity and respect for all people, and being a safe space for people to explore their identities and thrive as their most authentic selves.
We are committed to embracing the rhythm of life – from the rhythm of horses to nature to each other – to deepen mindfulness and support the physical and emotional goals of our clients.
We are committed to building trusting and responsive relationships that ensure we are meeting the needs of our clients and community.
We are committed to responsible care and management of the resources which have been entrusted to us, including our animals, land, facilities, people, and the financial gifts that support it all.
It is our responsibility to continue offering safe and supportive services to all who seek out our help.
We are grateful to all of our supporters, especially those that choose to continue supporting our place of healing during difficult financial and emotional times. Our mission, vision, and core values shape our work and hold strong: Hold Your Horses will remain a safe pasture for all who seek to heal.
