Meet Our HerdI really like horses, I think they are some of the most amazing animals in the world. I like the way they look at you. It’s like they are talking to you. I love putting my hand on the horses’s nose and feeling the warmth of the horse’s breath.” Maxx, Client
Lily is a 12 hand Haflinger Fjord cross mare. She is the only mare (female) in our herd and knows that she is smart and beautiful. Lily has survived several episodes of laminitis (very sore feet) and is the toughest pony around. These days she is working less but always knows what is happening at the HYH farm yard! She welcomes affection and sugar free treats. Click the globe below to see her TV interview.
Ghost is a 15.2 hand Pinto gelding. He is the herd leader, the longest serving member of the HYH herd and a very good teacher. He works in our hippotherapy services and in mental health. Many consider him to be a wise and spiritual guide. His favorite treat is a peppermint. Experience has shown that if you come on property with one in your pocket, he will find you.
DancerDancer is a 15 hand Missouri Fox Trotter Gelding. He is the most senior member of our herd and came to us after years of serving in the mounted Sheriff’s patrol. Dancer is one of our “go to” horses for hippotherapy and enjoys time in our group work as well. He is very good at letting you know where is itchy spots are and he loves apples and carrots.
BentleyBentley is a 14 hand grade horse. That means we have no idea what breed he is. He works primarily in our mental health programming and is a sensitive and insightful professional. Bentley is very social with all visitors to the barn and loves apples, carrots, watermelon rinds and peppermints.

YosiYosi was a 13 hand POA (Pony of the Americas) gelding. He was loving, kind and gentle and was one of the most dependable members of our herd. After decades of love and devotion to clients, Yosi crossed over to greener pastures in May 2018. He will forever be remembered and loved by our team and all of the people who’s lives were changed for the better.
